After Zhao Yun, Lyu Bu and Qiao Sisters, the fourth coin in the series depicts Cao Cao, who was a Chinese poet, statesman, and warlord. He was the penultimate grand chancellor of the Eastern Han dynasty, and he amassed immense power in the dynasty’s final years. As one of the central figures of the Three Kingdoms period, he laid the foundations for what became the state of Cao Wei. He remains a controversial historical figure, he is often portrayed as a cruel and merciless tyrant in literature, but he has also been praised as a brilliant ruler, military genius.

The reverse depicts Cao Cao, departing from his castle of Cao Wei across a suspension bridge and mounted on horseback with his raised sword (plated in 24k gold) pointing forward. The front breastplate of the horse’s head is plated in rose gold, giving further contrast to the coin.

The obverse shows the head of Elisabeth II and the same design as the previous coins in this series.
