Michael

Michael is one of the seven archangels and is among the three whose names appear in the Bible: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. Michael occupies the highest place among the archangels and is known as the „Prince of the Heavenly Spirits” and „Commander of the Heavenly Army”. In the Old Testament he appears as the great defender of the people of Israel against the devil, and his powerful defence continues in the New Testament: „Then a battle arose in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the Dragon”, which represents the devil.

Michael is equipped with breastplate and sword, he is also depicted with a spear, annihilating Satan. The spear is the power of God, which the archangel uses to strike down the devil. The breastplate is humility, in which the fiery darts of hell and evil are extinguished; the double-edged sword is the word of God, which confounds the lie and dispels the doubts and ego, which Lucifer’s pride uses to try to imitate God, confuse and lose souls.
